Crew socks

Wigwam Mens King Cotton Length

Wigwam Mens King Cotton Length

I have always preferred all-cotton socks, as I am allergic to many synthetics. Synthetics also tend to make one's feet perspire. But all-cotton is increasingly difficult to find and doesn't wear as well as synthetics. Someone gave me a pair of these King Cotton Crew socks from Wigwam, and I found them so comfortable that I had to buy more. They are 95% ring spun cotton, 3% nylon, and 2% elastic. Cotton comfort with just enough synthetic to help the sock keep its shape. Like traditional crew socks, these have a ribbed leg with an elastic band at the top. They stay up well, and the elastic is not too tight around the top. The toes have reverse closures, meaning that the seam is on the outside, so it can't rub. The best part is the heavily cushioned foot. The socks are about 1/2 centimeter thick on the bottom, which provides extra cushioning that you can feel.

The extra cushioning and thick fabric does make these socks bulkier than most crew socks. I can't wear them in shoes that fit snugly. But the socks are great in athletic shoes and short boots. The extra cushioning in boots is very welcome when I have to do a lot of walking. The King Cotton Crew is available in white, black, and sweatshirt grey colors, for men and women. White is available in sizes MD, LG, XL, and 2L. Black and grey are not available in 2L. The MD (medium) size will fit women's American shoe sizes 6-10. King Cotton High socks, which come up over the calf, and King Cotton Low ankle socks are also available in white only. The white socks have a black and red logo on the bottom of one sock in each pair. The Black socks have a white logo that tends to come off with washing. Wigwam's King Cotton are super-comfortable socks that wash and wear well.

  1. I bought these socks for my husband years ago from Nordstrom. When he wanted more, they no longer carried them. I found a company in Oregon and ordered about a dozen pair. We've been looking for them ever since. My husband prefers these socks to any other because they are a nice thick cotton and really durable. So I ordered a single pair to see if these are the ones and yes they are! I haven't found another sock that compares to these thick Wigwam socks.

These are absolutely my favorite socks and a must have for anyone who is tough on their feet. These extra thick socks provide an abundance of cushioning that just can't be beat for comfort. They also work great for wearing around the house in place of slippers. One word of advice, they are so thick that you may need to lace your shoes very loosely or even wear a half-size larger shoe or they can make your shoes feel too tight.

  3. Have been searching for some "white" socks that my husband would find comfortable enough to wear plus in his size 12. These are great and they wash great. Hope they stay around for a long time!

  4. Wigwam King socks are amazing! I'm a type-2 diabetic so comfortable feet are a serious issue. Whenever I don't have to wear shoes, I wear Kings. They are thick, comfortable, and warm. Thick enough at the toe to provide protection against the inevitable bumps and bangs.

If you walk around your house in socks, one pair of Kings will outlast 8-10 pairs of "bargain" socks. White Kings are a tad softer but the Light Grey version hides dirt better. Buy one pair of each color and see what works best for you. Then fill you sock drawer with these wonders.
